Hello, can we get an update on the progress of this? Is it still impossible to connect Looker Studio to a Cloud SQL PostgreSQL using only private IP?
kv...@consoleconnect.com <kv...@consoleconnect.com> #4
Please do consider this with priority, as only having private IP access support for MySQL, and not for PostgreSQL is affecting our ability to easily develop analytics without workarounds. This negates many use cases of using Looker Studio vs our own deployed tooling, and is also a detracting factor to the upgrade to Looker Studio Pro or other Google ecosystem tools.
Description
What you would like to accomplish:
We would like to have the possibility to connect a Private IP Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL instance to Looker Studio.
How this might work:
This could work in a similar way as the Cloud SQL for MySQL connector [1] works in Looker Studio, which allows Private IP instances.
If applicable, reasons why alternative solutions are not sufficient:
At the moment, it is not possible to connect Private IP instances using PostgreSQL. An error is raised while trying to create the connector. Other alternatives would involve modifying the instance to use Public IP or migrate to MySQL.
Other information (workarounds you have tried, documentation consulted, etc):
