I have informed our engineering team of this feature request. There is currently no ETA for its implementation.
A current workaround would be to check the returned "boundingPoly" [1] "vertices" for the returned "textAnnotations". If the calculated rectangle's heights > widths, than your image is sideways.

Description
Problem you have encountered: While translating a pdf document, the translated text is overlayed on the source document.
What you expected to happen: The translated document should contain only translated text language.
Steps to reproduce: I have followed the documentation[1] to recreate the issue. Tried to recreate using the target language as "Hindi-hi" and the issue still exists.
Other information (workarounds you have tried, documentation consulted, etc):
Source language : Czech - cs Target language : English - en-US
