In the past, it was possible to fetch the current wallpaper by using a simple storage permission, but sadly now it's possible only by using MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (when targeting Android 13):

This permission is very broad for apps that only need access to just 2 image files (lock/home wallpaper), and sadly the Play policy doesn't approve this permission for this case.

I request here something that won't completely solve this, but might help at least for some cases:

When we use SAF to have the file-picker be shown to the user to choose an image file , also let the user to choose the current wallpaper (lock/home).

It won't solve this issue for all apps, but at least for some of them.

Oh, worth noting that rule from that sample project works fine if Lint run via console.

Status: Won't Fix (Intended Behavior)

Hi all! I face the same issue when using AS 4.2.2. I've tried on macOS and on Windows, but I can't see highlighting. I don't see highlighting neither opening the project nor after running :app:lint command (but I can see errors in the console).
