I have a ColorStateList assigned as the text colour on a text view. The color state list is made up of some custom app attributes I defined in a attrs file. I would like to programmatically change the state for this ColorStateList to a different one of my app attributes at runtime. However, I dont think there's a way to do this currently.

Similar functionality is supported for StateListDrawable by calling the setImageState function on the ImageView. Could similar functionality not be applied for a ColorStateList on a TextView?

It seems to me that if we can define a ColorStateList referencing some android attributes (e.g. is selected) for e.g. text color, whose state can change at runtime, we should be able to do the same referencing app defined attributes instead
