Initially I thought it was only drop down menus, but now it seems to be any UI element with no clear pattern.
Phone UI will freeze, touch screen and buttons cease to respond. Phone fades to black as per power settings. Holding power button results in a vibration after about 2 seconds. Double tap does not launch camera. Cannot capture but report in this state as phone is non responsive.
Only way to restore functionality is to hold power and vol+ to reset device.
This has occured some 6-8 times in last 48h.
I have one way to recreate the error on my device (at least 3 times in a row) and that is to open my last receipt on my ride history in the Uber app.

Update: that button in Uber app is no longer causing a lock up so possible coincidence.

Expand to show more information or menu choices
What actually happened?
Sporadic. When I select to expand a result on a Google search in chrome, or a drop-down menu in an app, the phone touch screen and buttons stop responding completely. Phone will eventually fade to black as per power settings and a hard reboot is required.
