I'm just reposting my issue on GitHub repo:

Environment details

Places: 3.0.0 Android 12 A device with a notch

Steps to reproduce

I'm using a theme (MD v3) without actionbar. All the activities displayed correctly out of the box without adding anything except for AutocompleteActivity it overlap with status bar due the notch as the overlay mode use the default insets set by theme for status bar

I'm using the demo app out of the box, with no change in settings. (demo-java https://github.com/googlemaps-samples/android-places-demos)

The device with the notch I'm using for the test is Nokia 5.4 (TA-1325) under Android 12 (API 32)
