This repro's with AGP 8.1.* and 8.3 alpha06 at least.

Applying a transform on the ASSETS artifact with

variant.artifacts.use(assetTask).wiredWithDirectories(
  taskInput = TransformAssetsTask::input,
  taskOutput = TransformAssetsTask::output
).toTransform(SingleArtifact.ASSETS)

will give the following locations:

Input:  /.../build/intermediates/assets/debug/mergeDebugAssets
Output: /.../build/intermediates/assets/debug

The Input being inside the output is broken.

We should also double check all other potential artifacts.

This was broken by 3bca759a5ff08352de831bb1e9b61b1ec2b3362d.

Since there is no progression, I wanted to share our quick-fix for the issue.

#sdkmanager --package_file=${PATH_WORKSPACE}/packages
while read p; do echo "y" | sdkmanager "${p}"; done <${PATH_WORKSPACE}/packages

This has been fixed on master today (internal ref: ag/2945015) and will be available in the next SDK release.
