I'm gonna follow this article to downgrade from 14 to 13. The more time it passes, the more data i'll lose. Can't do backups from any app at all, so better reset factory now and start over;
ridiculous...

Hi 👋🏻
I believe this is the same issue as being reported here:
... but I see that this issue has been assigned.
Can we please merge / escalate these issues as appropriate? (As you see, there are many other affected users commenting on the other issue).
Thanks.

it is, but i wanted to test my luck and for some reason, mine got assigned already. I already provided with the bug report, but i don't think they'll give out a workaround or solution. They will get back to us saying "we've sent this to engineering team..." - i know them.
I tried a workaround myself with no avail. I tried transferring the data (no network) while setting up a new pixel (4), but even in the process of transferring the data, since the issue is that the phone can't access the local storage, the process gets stuck (forever loading). So i tried it WITH network and managed to get an old backup from a couple of days ago, but all the apps and local media were lost. I am currently resetting passwords from accounts i've havent logged in in years.
I have not rollback my main phone just yet since i'm still waiting for the other phone to download Gb's of data from old backups from each app. - Thou, im sure doing a factory reset on the phone will fix it. #SMH
They really messed it up with us.
ps. tried merging it, but i believe only the assigned googler can atm.

It looks like you are raising an issue as an Android user, rather than an Android Open Source Developer.

Thanks for trying aa. What an absurd status to tag this with.
1.. gets told to capture and submit a bug report 2.. bug gets assigned to a googler 3.. googler marks bug as obsolete
I suppose I should thank ra for expediting my move over to iOS.

Pixel 6. Updated to Android 14 a few days before the following failure.
1. Couldn't take screenshots due to a storage failure.
1. Rebooted.
1. After unlock, the phone told me "Factory resetting, restarting" without any action.
1. Pixel 6 restarted without any action.
1. Was presented a boot menu telling me of some malfunction, with two choices: factory reset or starting as usual.
1. Selected the start as usual.
1. Phone is stuck in the "Phone is starting" step. Restarting the phone does not fix the issue.
* Note: Bluetooth connects to my paired headphones even during "Phone is starting".
* Note 2: the previous special boot menu never showed up again.
* Note 3: standard boot menu is accessible.
* Note 4: recovery mode and the mode designed to work with Chrome's repair tool are accessible.
* Note 5: the Chrome's repair tool did not find any version to fix the Android installation (installed version was "unknown" by the tool).
* Note 6: three profiles enabled.

Shirley someone working for Google has a pixel and they've experienced it. I can't for the life of me beleive that nobody from Google owns a pixel and haven't had this very same error.
This is actually kind of worrying since there likely are employees impacted and still no fix... Also, don't call me Shirley

After weeks waiting for the tech support come up with a solution that didn't required factory reset, I decided to do the reinstallation with the Pixel Repair Tool(or something similar, they sent me the link).
(My pixel 7 was stuck on the inicial boot screen)
I did all the steps through the repair tool, including factory reset to make sure things would be good.
The phone lasted for a day only and now is completely dead. Very dead.
Was working fine, I placed the device on a table at full charge. When I came back to it an hour later, it was already dead.
And now google is refusing to replace or refund me for my 10 month old phone that THEY BROKE.
If anyone knows about any class action going on, send the the details.
