Description
This feature would make it possible to create a workload pool ahead of time for a project, apply IAM policies, bind the Workload Identity, and make this process independent of cluster creation.
Currently, Workload Identity Pools are created at cluster creation, and IAM policies must wait for the pool to exist. This method would allow customers to create Workload identity pools for GKE workloads eliminating the need for creating a cluster beforehand.
