The newly introduced enableEdgeToEdge API can be used to simplify enabling insets/edge-to-edge on activities. I would like to use the same API for other classes, such as a BottomSheetDialogFragment:

Currently, there appears to be a lot of boilerplate required to reproduce the same behaviour for BottomSheetDialogFragment/other dialog fragments (see the Material Components for Android repo for example).

It would be nice if the API could be used on any arbitrary Window - correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I can tell from the source code, the ComponentActivity receiver is only used to retrieve its Window.
