com.android.settings plugin doesn't recognize targetSdk [317358817]

When trying to use the new com.android.settings plugin in settings.gradle, added in Android Gradle Plugin 8.0.0-alpha09, im getting an error not recognizing targetSdk method.

In settings.gradle:

plugins {
    id 'com.android.settings' version "8.2.0"
}

android {
    compileSdk 33
    minSdk 24
    targetSdk 33
}

Build log when sync-ing: Gradle DSL method not found: 'targetSdk()'

Tried using up to the latest version (as of today 8.3.0-alpha18) but still doesn't recognize. Haven't found any references to the lack of support for this.

Are there any plans to add it? If i'm gonna move my module configuration to use this plugin, i need it to have all 3 versions, otherwise i will have 2 configurations in different places.

Do you still have the thread dumps in ~/Library/Logs/Google/AndroidStudio2024.1/ ? If yes, can you please attach them?

Also, do you have any accessibility features enabled? Because I see various calls to java.desktop/sun.lwawt.macosx.CAccessibility flagged for timeouts.

I don't have any accessibility features enabled.
I checked under Settings > Appearance > Accessibility and nothing is enabled. Is there anywhere else I should check?
