Devices/Android versions reproduced on: All devices (e.g., Pixel 6, Pixel 3).
Android Auto version reproduced on: The problem is present in application versions starting from 11.1.xxx. The problem does not occur on versions 11.0 and older.
Since the release of Android Auto version 11.1, I have encountered a critical issue with navigation applications. Specifically, while using split-screen split-screen mode (Coolwalk), the navigation instructions (upcoming maneuvers) and Travel Estimate data fail to update. It's important to note that this problem is not exclusive to a single application and has been observed across multiple navigation applications, with the exception of Google Maps.
The problem can be easily replicated on your sample project 'navigation.mobile' by turn on coolwalk mode.
