Description
Recently we encountered an issue when calling google API (
This location (latitude=37.9688, longitude=-87.5714) is near Evansville, and we know they're using Central Time (CST / CDT) instead of Eastern Time (EST / EDT).
We called the following Google API:
Current Google response:
{
dstOffset: 0
rawOffset: -18000
status:OK
timeZoneId:America/Indiana/Indianapolis
timeZoneName:Eastern Standard Time
}
We expect to receive "America/Chicago" as timeZoneId, and "Central Standard Time" as timeZoneName, and "-21600" as rawOffset for this location (latitude=37.9688, longitude=-87.5714).
Reference:
1) Search “37.968800, -87.571400” in Google, we could see this location is in Evansville.
2) Search “Evansville timezone” in Google, we could see timezone is Central Standard Time (GMT-6) at this time of the year.
3) Refer to Wikipedia (
