1. 5G Is Still not Working. UAE all Bands match pixel Bands.

What did you expect to happen?
For God Sake allow 5G from Modem update

Really need 5G.

Extreme - device was unusable

I need to use fast speed data and which is only available in 5G. Please google update modem and allow 5G NSA, please 🥺

IMHO, this is not an “intended behaviour”. 5G should work properly on a major phone like lasts Pixel.

I don't really know whether it is Digi's or Google's responsibility, but either one or other must fix it. Kind of embarrassing that a €700+ phone cannot connect to a 5G network.

With other mobiles and the same Digi mobil SIMs I have no problems connecting to 5G.

5G NSA is not working I never see 5G in this device. Volte and vowifi is working but 5G is not. Even du and Etisalat both is working in my other Samsung device.

In UAE there is only 2 telecome companies. Du and Etisalat and both 5G band is NSA N41 and N78, Pixel 6 pro support N41 and N78 but i don't know why google block it from Modem. Pixel 7 pro fully updated, and still no 5G connection through Digi Spain. It happened the same with Lowi, Pepephone and some other spanish internet suppliers in Spain.
That´s something that only impacted Pixel phones, with no impact across other Android smartphones, which is absolutely frustrating.

I bought this phone in order to receive the best support as possible from its manufacturer Google, but based on last years facts, that is not happening.

Of course, that encourages everyone to re-consider in future what Google and its Pixel phones can deliver in terms of user experience, which is clearly over rated. That´s especially relevant, especially if we compare against Samsung phones.

I've just had an entertaining afternoon.

Called Digi to explain the issue, they told me to verify my device with another SIM. But that it was most likely a device issue.

Contacted google support, told me the usual, to reset things, etc, and to verify with another sim.
I finally was able to verify with another sim.
Pixel 8 with Jazztel sim, 5g works.
Rando Xiaomi with my digi sim, 5g works.

Told the Google support. "Ok, device works fine, digi's fault" Carriers have to add the device to their network or some bs.
I mentioned that rooted pixels work with digi. She replied that she couldn't make any comments regarding that.

Called Digi again, got a different agent. After explaining everything, for the 11th time, she flat out told me that the device was not compatible with digi's network. When asked for extra information, she replied that she didn't knew, since it was not her area to know. So, she has no issue telling me they are not compatible, but now why.

Since rooted devices are able to connect, i think this is just some beef google and digi got and that they don't want to sort out. So, at the end of the day, the user "pays the duck".

I'll try to switch to jazztel on the meanwhile, but as some already stated, this is my last (and first) pixel.

No creo que másmóvil se considere una alternativa a Digi siendo la primera una operadora primaria con antenas propias y la segunda una low cost que depende de Telefónica.
En cualquier caso, es vergonzoso que haya pasado ya medio año y Google no se digne a liberar su módem para que los usuarios puedan conectarse a todas las operadoras que ofrezcan 5G. Como para no volver a comprarles un móvil, vamos.

Bueno, yo cuento mi experiencia, vivo y trabajo en Madrid Centro y con MásMovil tengo mejor cobertura, ya no se me cortan las llamadas y en cuando salgo a la calle coge 5G, la noche y el día, me da igual quien tiene antenas propias y quien depende de quien. Antes me metía en el metro y era como si estuviera en un Bunker sin apenas cobertura, ahora navego algo peor que en la calle pero tengo una buena conexión. Con DIGI lo máximo que cogía es LTE, ni siquiera 4G. No digo que cuando DIGI saque el 5G sea mejor pero ahora no tiene comparación: Tarifa: 20Gb + LLamadas Ilimtadas sin permanencia por 4.9€. Yo sólo digo que como alternativa hasta que DIGI saque el 5G no está nada mal, sobretodo al no tener permanencia, cuando lo saquen, te vuelves a pasar a DIGI y listo...

Ese es el problema, es que DIGI ya tiene 5G, es el Pixel el que no lo coge.

Y de 5€ nada, son 10€ con descuento los primeros 12 meses. Que si, que probablemente cuando termine el año puedes ponerte a regatear y te lo van a mantener. Pero sinceramente, prefiero un operador que tenga los precios más bajos de base y no tenga que ir cada año a pelearme por un precio competente.

Claro, la solución es comprar un iPhone y no literalmente cualquier android de 200 euros que si que le funciona el 5g con DIGI, vete a paseo.
El movil es compatible, en el sentido que soporta las bandas del operador e incluso funciona con esas mismas antenas con otros operadores de movistar, que da la red a DIGI.
Si la gente te reafirma que DIGI tiene 5G, es porque has dicho lo contrario. Al igual es que no te expresas con precisión, como con lo de la compatibilidad.

Si bien es cierto que no sabemos si es a causa de DIGI, quien tiene la llave para resolverlo es Google, prueba de ello es que los Pixeles rooteados si que pueden usar el 5g de DIGI. Si Google no lo quiere habilitat por algun beef con DIGI no lo se, pero Google lo podría solucionar.

Lo peor no es lo del 5G sino que las llamadas tambien se cortan, al menos con el pixel 7 pro.
A mi me han cambiado 2 terminales a traves de google support, aunque se empeñan en decir que los dispositivos estan bien y no tienen fallo te lo acaban cambiando y al final tuve que cambiar el operador, por lo menos movil y bateria nuevos poco antes de cumplir los 2 años de garantia

Those who get 5G working in DIGI Spain, don't update to any new beta otherwise for sure you will not get 5G again. I have the same issue of 5G not working in Greece since Android 15 Beta 3. The funny thing is that you can very easily make it work by rooting, which proves, like other have said, that it is not a bug but a deliberate decision. They have deliberately disabled 5G for some countries or operators and they refuse to enable it back despite the outcry. A very disappointing situation for thousands of customers who have paid for their phones and cannot use them to their full potential. And no, the solution is not to root our phones and enable it ourselves, as that not only compromises security but prevents us from using essential functionality and apps like Wallet or other payment apps. Google should fix it now.

Well, I would say "fine" is a stretch. My connection jumps from 5G to H+ (with nearly full bars) and a speed tests gets like 2-5mbps.
Doing the same test with a Jazztel sim i got over 100mbps.

Pixel 9 pro y 9 pro XL 5G digi ok al fin

Pixel 8 y pixel 8 pro 5G digi ok al fin

Pixel 7 pro XL 5G digi ok al fin

Pixel 6 NO FUNCIONA 5G de digi

Pixel 6a NO FUNCIONA 5G de digi

Me han comentado que pixel 6 ya no vaa. Recibir 5G por lo menos hasta android 16

Buenas, como usuario de pixel 6 pro, he prometido hace medio año tramitar la garantía y, visto la falta de profesionalidad por parte de Google, finalmente he tramitado la garantía del mismo debido a este defecto para actualizar a un pixel 8 pro que sí tiene el bug arreglado.

A quienes se encuentren en esta situación, les recomiendo tramitar la garantía también, ya que esto es inaceptable. Espero que el pixel 8 pro no tenga bugs de este estilo o tendré que tramitar la garantía de nuevo.

Pixel 8 - Finetwork 5G is not working.
I suspect VoLTE isn't either. I don't get most of the calls, while on call, mic stops working and the phone switches to H.

This is after a year of waiting for 5G on Digi for like a year.
Also the phone gets fucking hot and "fast charges" slower than my 6 year old Note9. Well, if it even fast charges, because the damn thing only works with USB PD PPS compatible bricks, so forget about using an USB A to C cable. Like you know, MOST of them. Also, when I contacted support they told me to use the "Google's charger" no sir, if you don't include one in the box, you can't fucking tell that's only intended to work well with its own brick.
Also, have to charge multiple times a day, because it gulps battery.

I was very happy with my Nexus5, i suppose because it was not made by google. My fist and last pixel. "Nice pictures" is not worth having to deal with this expensive garbage.Especially now that you don't even get unlimited photos backup. Btw, since I'm already talking about photos. Why the fuck the Pixel 8 doesn't allow you to change the picture resolution, why i need to pay the extra for the "PRO" to have the privilege to use the hardware that I bought?

It is clearly not fixed. Digi Spain, and many others OMV (in Spain and other countries), 5G is still not available on several Pixel Phones.

As stated before on the thread, it looks more like a marketing movement than a real technical issue. But, to be honest, it really looks like a wrong decision. Not fixing this problem means defrauding many users, most of them tech-savvy, that have been recommending Pixel Phones to friends and family, until now.

If a cheaper low-end Xiaomi Phone do have 5G, it's difficult to justify the expending on a not-working Pixel Phone.

It is up to you, Google…
