Description
This message is to highlight the upcoming end-of-support for Java 8 and explore the possibility of Jetty 12 support in App Engine Flexible.
Current Configuration:
Runtime: openjdk8
Server: jetty9
As you know, Java 8 support ends on July 10, 2024. To ensure our application's long-term viability, migrating to a newer Java version is crucial.
Why Jetty 12?
Jetty 12 offers compatibility with Java 17 and later versions, making it an ideal choice for our Java 8 migration. Additionally, migrating from Jetty 9 to Jetty 12 is expected to be a smoother process compared to switching to a completely different web server.
Request:
We kindly request Google to consider adding support for Jetty 12 within App Engine Flexible. This would significantly benefit our application's future development and maintenance.
Inquiry:
Does Google have any plans to introduce Jetty 12 support in the near future? Any information on a potential timeline would be greatly appreciated.
