Well. NFC is used to activate my Freestyle Libre blood sugar sensors. Meaning in 6 days I have a lil problem as this is when the sensor needs to be replaced. Sure, my fault to install a beta, but how can this even happen?! A basic feature is gone completely and this never happened to me before. Next beta I will think twice before I join the testing.

This issue has been reported a high number of times, come on Google please fix this. A basic functionality such as tap to pay should not be broken this badly and widespread by an update! If you can't get the basics right, I have no confidence at all in this beta and will drop back to Android 14 for better stability.

Fyi anybody that decides to opt out and downgrade wiping their device there is a chance your SMS MMS messages will no longer work. I've had this issue for 3 days until I realised I had to tell all my peers to delete my number and add me again for their messages to come through.

Same here, beta 14 everything was fine. Holding the fone next to an nfc terminal actually brings wallet up, but then it fails, so seems something in Android is definitely broken / turned off. I guess we'll have to wait for beta 2 in May

The issue isn't that this is a beta. The issue is that this beta is available to "the public" and by such you could expect something as benign as NFC to actually work.
Non-functioning NFC isn't a minor issue in todays society. And a roll-back deletes everything. If it's true what's reported above here that SMS/MMS is unreadable when doing a roll-back it's a catch-22.
FYI: NFC worked in the developers preview 2.

It's a boneheaded mistake. It wasn't broken in dp and it's broken in beta.
I mean the whole reason why there is a dp/beta is for the developers to test their apps and fix any compatibility issues. Critical functions such as NFC shouldn't have failed so that devs may test with it. Now that the NFC is broken the devs couldn't even test their app's for NFC.

Could someone explain me again why you install a BETA version on a device you need for health, tax, payment or whatever else I read about the last days?! It's your fault to do that and you have been warned that a beta might interfere with the daily use of the device. So don't complain and wait like I do. I need NFC for my blood sugar sensors and still installed the beta. Why? I have a plan B! If you don't, don't complain about evil Google if it were your own shortcomings causing your problems.

I've turned on NFC verbose vendor debug log and NFC NCI unfiltered log from developer options in case it helps. Still waiting for the update because apparently every app that requires NFC doesn't work properly for now.

honestly, y'all need to quit complaining. YOU signed the agreement FULLY KNOWING that this is a beta release. IT IS NOT MEANT FOR EVERYDAY USE AND STABILITY. it is meant to gather data and feedback on how this new release works with real world situations and environments. if you can't handle it, leave the beta. it's easy to do so.
