Description
Problem you have encountered:
Cx mentioned that they recently rolled out an update to their application on App Engine. Cx observed the spike in latency, memory and CPU, with the same traffic. And they are assuming that this /v1/sy/tag/log endpoint is the root cause of the issue as it has very high traffic. This endpoint takes some POST data, and stores it in the BigQuery table. Cx have moved to PHP 8.2 from PHP 7.4 and they upgraded the “google/cloud-bigquery” library that makes the database connection and the supporting “google/cloud-core” library. Cx have tried lots of combinations to try and isolate the root cause, such as rolling back the PHP libraries, but they are unable to isolate the root cause. Cx can’t test if the PHP version is the issue because they are not able to deploy to 7.4 anymore as it is restricted by Google. Cx also mentioned that this is causing an increase in costs.
Product Affected: App Engine Standard
What you would like to accomplish:
Cx wants to use PHP 8.2 with expected latency.
