I have informed our engineering team of this feature request. There is currently no ETA for its implementation.
A current workaround would be to check the returned "boundingPoly" [1] "vertices" for the returned "textAnnotations". If the calculated rectangle's heights > widths, than your image is sideways.

Description
Customer use translation api V2, some words of original english text is translated to garbled Thai text
What you expected to happen:
English text can be translated properly.

it can be reproduced in Google translate

Other information (workarounds you have tried, documentation consulted, etc):
This issue can be mitigated by changing the punctuation. For example, use semicolon instead of coma in the sentence, and add double quotes in the text. However, this does not meet customer’s expectation as the original text cannot be edited

This incorrect translation affect severely customer’s use case, request team to work on this as soon as possible
