Problem you have encountered: User-defined metadata labels for Pub/Sub topics and subscriptions are not included in Pub/Sub log entries within Google Cloud Logging. While these labels can be managed in the Google Cloud Console (in the right panel of topics and subscriptions), they are not reflected in the corresponding log entries. This makes it difficult to track changes and analyze Pub/Sub resources based on label values.

What you expected to happen: The actual key and value of the updated label should be visible within the log entries. Ideally, this information would be accessible either through the top-level "labels" field of the Log Entry or within the Audit Log metadata. This would allow for easier monitoring and troubleshooting of Pub/Sub resources using user-defined labels.

Steps to reproduce:

1. In the Google Cloud Console, navigate to the Pub/Sub section.
2. Create a new topic or subscription or select an existing one.
3. In the right panel, add or edit labels for the selected resource.
4. Go to the Logs Explorer in Cloud Logging.
5. Filter log entries using the following query: protoPayload.request.updateMask:"". The resulting entries will only indicate that labels were updated, without specifying the label details.
