We would like to use the Self-Service Storage Shrink API in order to shrink the disk size of a Cloud SQL instance, because the instance uses approximately 2 GB. Currently the service has a threshold of 50 GB +  data disk usage. There are various methods to accomplish a decrease of disk size under 50 GB (DMS, import/export SQL dump file), but we would like an improvement of this API in order to support smaller disk sizes.

Given that the minimum disk size for a Cloud SQL instance is 10 GB, it would be beneficial to enhance the shrinking API so that it can reduce the disk size to the minimum value.

What you would like to accomplish:
Update the Self-Service Storage Shrink API to support smaller disk sizes. (To be able to reduce the Cloud SQL instance to the minimum value of disk size of 10 GB)
