Description
Have been seeing this for a while.
The Project view in Android Studio shows old versions of our project's dependencies (like androidx.activity:activity = 1.0) even though if you run "gradle app:dependencies", this particular library gets promoted to 1.8.0. Same happens with other dependencies, they can be shown multiple times with different versions.
As a side effect of this (I'm guessing), Android Studio flags as an error a method which was added in androidx.activity:activity after 1.0 - even though the project compiles just fine.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Not sure, unfortunately I cannot share the project
