Buggy behavior

Every now and then the Active Build Variant selection switches to some value. It looks like it picks the first one (alphabetic order). I cannot tell when exactly this happens but this behavior is present since several months and occurs often enough to be annoying.

Related feature request

It would be great to display the Active Build Variant similar to the selected branch so the selection is visible without manually opening the Build Variants panel.
