We want to have the option on the ScaleControl to start it in the imperial system. Right now the only way to do it is to use a hack to trigger a click event on the scale bar. Please add this as an option with a getter and setter to determine and set the current unit system on the ScaleControl programatically.

Here's an example of the hack the users must currently use to get this functionality.

Google maps shows a scale bar in kilometres in the UK - a country where the official unit of measurement is miles - pretty stupid for Google not to know this.

There already seems to be a spec for ScaleControlOptions, but the only one available is DEFAULT.
