There seems to be a wealth of bus stop information available in the google maps interface.
For example this request:

Gives me bus number information.

I would like to be able to get bus stop information (location, buses running from that location) and bus route information out of the API in order to develop bus route related applications.

Same issue with GRT in waterloo region. Same both stops at either side of road have same name and how a new person will know without stop number about bus

This does not seem like an unreasonable request. Can we get any updates or love on this please? Those of us in the transit industry could really use access to this in the API. Have been searching for a way to do this for more than 2 years now. Would also be appreciated if the simple map API could allow to search for the simple combination of agency_id and stop_id. This isn't an outrageous request....

The HERE API provides this functionality (both directly by station ID, and generally by location+radius), but they don't seem to support the breadth of services that Google does. It would be really nice to have this available, it enables a lot of functionality that's *very* hard to replicate generally otherwise.

8 years and still nothing for public transport stop information on maps API??? It's TOP8 most voted Google Maps platform issue. This feature would help create many businesses and smart homes (display the next transport on home assistant dashboard).
