Hello everyone from Portland Oregon -
I would hope for some type of API method or function called by the user who provides the arguments
date
road location
direction of traffic
time
The workaround is to use the web based google maps "typical traffic" combo box
Are there any other workarounds as we wait?
Once it was working at a basic level it might be improved in the next few years to accept more complex arguments or add a range function/method ()
date start, date end
road location start, location end
direction of traffic
time start, time end
and the result would be the function returns an average based on the supplied ranges
In order to save the planet I beg for this feature addition. We need data on Free Flow Speed or average speed or anything close. . Here in the USA there is a desire to build additional inefficient and polluting freeways and much less desire to build clean and efficient public transpiration systems.
In conclusion I just want to thank everyone on this thread and at Google. The google maps web interface has a decent existing tool: combo box allowing users to change from "Live traffic" to "Typical traffic"
The area I'm studying is here:
The typical traffic history GUI was added in 2008
Thanks, Joe!
