My Nexus doesn't show the senders phonenumber if the number i shorter than usual, i.g. in stead
of showing "1880" the phone shows the first word in the message as sendername. Is this a generell
problem in Android 2.1? Works fine on any other mobiles.

Upgrade was never offered. I was offered directly Android 16. I can't
install Android 16 as I want to leave beta.

I specifically put my SIM card back to HTC Magic running 1.6 to test it before writing my comment - I made
request and it worked flawlessly for several different services. And it failed on Nexus right after that again.

Sometimes it is very difficult to know who has sent you the sms and on top of that,
in order to reply you must enter the right nº, you can`t just REPLY TO SENDER as
sender is WRONG!!!!!!

I've a HTC Magic with a custom ROM do it by Superatmel and the problem also exists.

I have this problem and its important for me because i have vodafone qtal group in my
family and when i recibed a call or sms from one of this, i can see the number and i
don´t know who respond.

If i recibed "hello , can i see you later?" , i see "hello" as a number and " , can i
see you later?" as a text.

Its very important for services of groups.

Same problem here. I can't believe how such a small bug slipped through the cracks and more
importantly how the issue is not being resolved. Is there anyone from google even listening?

Oh and while ur at it google, how about u add signature options and copy/paste in the email client.
These are basic features that for some odd reason were left out.

Adding as a contact doesn't work either, it sets the "first word" (instead of the
"phone number") in the "phone number" field of the contact profile.

How is it possible? This problem still remains from... January? Unbelievable.

Yesterday, on Google I/O's 2nd keynote, Google guys said that sending/receiving
messages was the 2nd most important feature of a phone. So what?

I have to say it makes our phones unusable as it's impossible to contact properly
with our favourite contacts, or to receive messages from services as Bus information,
Bank sign-ins and advices, etc.

Even when 1.5 and 1.6 worked perfectly with it! Five months to fix a HIGH priority
issue about a main function of the phone and... nothing.
