Would I be correct in assuming that this would allow google to add an option to android that would enable a feature that would make it so that when you swipe a notification out of your pull down, it marks the corresponding message/call/email/etc as read?
If so I want this so bad I cannot even describe the level of desire to you.

wi...@gmail.com <wi...@gmail.com> #82
that is already possible… but yeah… would also be possible that way…
ny...@gmail.com <ny...@gmail.com> #83
It's not possible already, or there wouldn't be an issue for it.
an...@gmail.com <an...@gmail.com> #84
@winroot - as far as I'm aware this is only currently possible for the native app that raised the notification, but it's not available to 3rd party apps using the accessibility service. They can detect a notification has been swiped away, but not which one. If you know otherwise could you post about it.
I'm aware with root that the read logs can be read to get a notification id to see it cleared, but I'd prefer a non-root non file log reader way.

I have written an app that responds to an alert and sends emails periodically until it is cleared. Currently there is no way that I can work out how my app can detect if a specific alert has been cleared and thus stop sending the emails. This omission seems to be the same thing others are requesting to be fixed/added.

Description
For the accessibility service, no information is reported on this event, so it's not possible to trigger anything of the back of it.
It would be good to be able to know when a notification is cleared and for which application the notification was for.
