This is definitely an OS based issue as I have found from doing many searches too. The Android team just keeps completely failing to acknowledge this as an issue. I have a Samsung Mesmerize on 2.3. No meeting details in exchange invites. This is pretty useless.

I have an Sony Xperia S and have the same problem. But in my case it works if the meeting request are sent from outlook 2007 or erlier. If the meeting request are generated in outlook 2010 i can´t se the details in my phone.

Please fix this is super important for business users. "View in calendar" options does not work:
It takes me to the correct day in the calendar but doesn't show me what time the meeting is at! Very frustrating. The only way I can see when an invite is for is to accept it. Which obviously I don't want to do without knowing what time it is.

This behavior is consistent on both the Galaxy Nexus running 4.1.1 and Nexus 7 on 4.1.1. This is basic functionality that is missing.

Problem exists on Xoom 4.0.1, 4.1.1 and Galaxy Nexus 4.0.1. This is hugely aggrivating when attempting to function in a corporate environment. Truly, it relegates my Xoom to personal use only and forces me to an iPad for a business tablet (to my great displeasure).

Yeah known issue, I've got it on my phone aswell as the company I work for have Exchange and outlook 2010, there's a workround as per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2459997 but the reg change would need to be changed on all PC's with outlook 2010.

Can you please fix this issue. I am on a Galaxy Nexus 4.1.1 and have had this issue since getting the phone. It is super annoying to not be able to view the time and date of a calendar invite before adding it to your calendar (i.e. accepting the invite).
I have attached three screen shots of my phone to demonstrate this issue:
1 - Screen Shot of the invite - calendar section
2 - Screen Shot of the invite - invite section
3 - Screen Shot of View In Calendar
NONE OF THEM GIVE ANY INDICATION AS TO WHEN THEN INVITE IS SCHEDULED FOR, with the exception (I believe) that the View In Calendar opens the calendar to the same day as the invite, however, it doesn't place it on the calendar nor provide any details to the start or end time of the invite.
PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE ASAP!!!!!

Not a problem for me anymore. Samsung fixed it in their android 4.0.4 release for their galaxy phones. I verified on the sgs2 and sgs3

The issue is huge for me.
I have documented the issue much more definitively in this Google doc:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JKAlLbse1-PDX5qgJBnARS51oPbYUPY4WvtdkdrEUtg/edit
The issue doesn't appear in Gmail app on iPad, it does appear in Gmail app on Phone and the native mail / calendar app.
Not only doesn't it indicate the date or time, it also doesn't indicate the location or who else was invited.

I also have the problem: I receive messages in my IMAP mailbox running on a Linux server. If a Business sends me a meeting invite from their Exchange server, I see the "Let us have a meeting about xyz" message but it does not display the date or time or allow me to accept it. This is a REAL pain.

I have a SGH-I727 with Android 4.04 ICS. It too will not accept meeting invitations in any reasonable manner. I should not have to jump through all of the hoops described to work around this issue only to have a half-baked solution. My contract is up in 11 months. If this isn't fixed soon, apples will be very tasty by that time, or perhaps before!

Also experiencing this issue, Galaxy Nexus 4.2.2, JDQ39. This is not an "enhancement request," not being able to see the details (date and time) of a calendar event before you accept/decline is not WADNAD, that's an issue that needs to be addressed.
td...@gmail.com <td...@gmail.com> #20
Hum, I just noticed that Ericliu....@gmail.com said it is not a problem on the Android 4.0.4 (ICS) release for Galaxy phones. However, I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 using ICS, and meeting invites are displayed on my S2 in the format of an email. They do not appear as an invite on the calendar, and there is no way to accept the invite. I also use the "Business Calendar" app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=netgenius.bizcal&hl=en ). It allows me to accept the invitation and loads it onto my "Business Calendar" properly.

For the love of god Google - Can you please fix this?
I'm now on 4.2.2 and this issue is still not resolved.
Here's a link to a Google Doc that detail yet another example
https://docs.google.com/document/d/102ZiSRdvwB-PlsNwEmtvCA1ie_GXirjsqpge1X1oCWc/edit?usp=sharing
(1) I receive an email from someone outside my corporation with a meeting invite
(2) there is no time, date, location or attendee info in the email
(3) when you click on "View in Calendar" it doesn't show the meeting in the stock Google calendar
Lastly, when can I get search in my Exchange email folder?
How hard is that to put in there?

This is ridiculous! This is a critical feature for any phone that is hoping to take itself seriously as a business or consumer phone!
If soooo many people are getting it (as I am - on kitkat) why is it taking so long to fix?

My recommendation is to all of you getting this issue is to get a different email app. I'm sure Google will correct this in time, but I'm guessing they don't see this as high priority and will not be fixing this any time soon, so don't hold your breath.
I recently changed my phone to LG, and the email app that comes with it is far superior (it shows the date/time of the meeting). The one that comes with HTC Sense is also much better. Manufacturers sometimes replace many of the standard Android apps, as some of the stock Android apps, including email, need improvement. There are many email apps on the market (some of them free), so it would be worth looking into those.

A reminder, the "Business Calendar" app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=netgenius.bizcal&hl=en )is a better calendar and does not have this problem. It has become pretty clear that Google / Android doesn't care.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Android 4.2.2. I have had this problem since I purchased the phone approximately 2 years ago. My company recently upgraded to Exchange 2010. I have since tested my phone with 3 different invites from 3 different people (2 internal, 1 external). Two invites showed in the calendar immediately when selecting "View in Calendar." The 3rd invite didn't show immediately, but did show after selecting refresh in the calendar view. It's as if the invite itself isn't placing the item on the calendar and the "View in Calendar" is just taking you to your calendar that is synchronizing with the server.
On a side note, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android 4.3 a couple of weeks ago and we were still on Exchange 2003. I have been using the default e-mail and calendar that came with the device and have had no issues with viewing invites in the calendar.

I have Samsung S4 and this problem seems to only be with ics files that orginate from Outlook. Invites from Google Calendar come through as expected with Yes | Maybe | NO options and other details as expected. I am on 4.2.2 - Hoping 4.3 will finally fix this!!

I have a Moto Ultra and the same thing happens. If I use the Moto stock/Google variant calendar, it brings this up when I hit, "View in Calendar". I don't use this as my default, because both the Moto stock/Google variant calendar and the Play Store Google Calendar don't provide a Guest addition field for an Exchange Calender event/invites.
I use Business Calendar Pro, and the "View in Calendar" button doesn't trigger the calendar. I have noticed that Sunrise Calendar does trigger, but this doesn't support Exchange, at this time.
Finally, All these calendars do not provide availability of the people you are inviting, which you can see in your standard outlook app. The only Calendar client that did was the Samsung stock Calendar, found in the S3, S4, S5, and Note variants.
Google, please focus on these basic exchange features, so you can be accepted more in the business space, when compared to Apple/IOS, who have figured this out.

I cannot open KDEPIM-generated invites in either Kolab format (.ics attachments) or Exchange format (Content-type: text/calendar; method=request; charset="utf-8" | Content-Disposition: inline) on an AOSP-based secured Android phone either.
This works out of the box on Blackberry. Shame.

Same problem on a Samsung S4 running Android 4.4.2 using Gmail as email client and S Planner for calendar.
Previously had not been a problem for me, but seems to have arisen with an update to the email client around June 2014. Problem only manifests with Exchange emails.

Using the standard Email app it works, MTRQ are clearly readable and can be answered, so no OS issue there. Rather an app not including the necessary code? Both GMAIL and OUTLOOK apps have the same behavior.
br...@gmail.com <br...@gmail.com> #41
I'd suggest using 'Inbox' from Google to process those invitations. I find that invitations from Outlook/Exchange servers are correctly presented in my phone's 'Inbox' app while they and still not legible in Gmail.
This solution seems to suggests it's an app issue.

WHEN is this getting fixed? I'm on Windows Surface Pro 8 running Windows 10 and have never had this problem until 2 weeks ago. Now all of a sudden when a client sends me a calendar invite from their Outlook, no meeting details are displayed in the emailed invite I receive, only the Teams link info, and it DOESN'T show on my Google Business calendar at all.
NEVER HAPPENED UNTIL NOW. What the hell is going on?

Description
When receiving an invitation via the email app from a Microsoft Exchange based email system no details about the invite is displayed and clicking "View in calendar" also does not display the item.
It would appear to me that this is a base OS issue (based on many search results) and not vendor dependant issue.
The correct behavior would be displaying the invite details.
