Thank you for this feedback, given the request to implement this in lint we are keeping it as a feature request.

I implemented this several years ago but just found the topic branch on an older computer and I had never uploaded it! But I've dusted it off now and adapted it to Kotlin (the super call check was ported to Kotlin a while back) and have just checked it in; should be part of 4.1 canary 9. Sorry about the 3.5 year delay :-)
