Thanks for the report. I will route this to the appropriate internal team and update this when I hear back from them.
Description
Cx is concerned about the costs associated with their PVC underlying disks where it’s been deleted in the GKE environment but still it’s present in the compute engine disks. And there are many more PVC like this where they exists in the compute engine whereas the associated PVC and PV are deleted.
What you would like to accomplish: if the large amount of unused PVC disks are accumulated in the compute engine disks, customer wants GCP to have such sevice/controller mechanism to regularly clean up the unused disks.
How this might work: If customers using retain as reclaim policy, after the PVC and PV deletion the disks were still there in the compute engine. if there is any retention policy configured, like for how many days the disks shouldn't get deleted automatically, then after the retention period , the disks will be automatically deleted.
- Also, any automation script creation to delete all of the unused disks at the same time can be beneficial.
