This one's a minor UI bug.. Apps with the new Nearby Devices permissions can see the local name (edited locally) of bluetooth audio devices. However, when they show a MediaStyle notification, they still use the remote name in the audio output picker.

One more detail, Data Layer event calls from the watch to the phone (running Android 13) do work on if the listener is in an Activity or Fragment.

Also, I'm seeing this message in the Logcat:
