This is a request from JetBrains:

Android plugin still has massive usages of com.intellij.dom.fileDescription which is deprecated and registration should be done via com.intellij.dom.fileMetaData extension point instead for performance reasons.

It looks like all of these usages are in android-xml.xml.

I don't think the average developer understands the distinction between method references and method definitions in this context (inside a DEX file). I know I don't.
