Any suggestions on where such an interface might live? I don't think it makes sense for the interface to be in the drawerlayout artifact if you're specifically going to use the interface to *not* use DrawerLayout.

androidx.customview would be a good candidate. This is used by all of the widget libraries.

Create an interface for layouts that can be opened
Create a common interface that represents layouts
that have two states: open and closed. This allows
higher level libraries to rely on the interface,
rather than concrete implementations such as
DrawerLayout, making them more resilient to
changes in the current recommended implementation.

This appears to have regressed in Iguana.
We added the @Language("sql") API functionality in macrobench in this change:
So as of March 6 last year, it was working as I developed that change. I tried a few versions of Studio to narrow this regression down:
- Electric eel (not working, presumably not supported yet)
- Flamingo (works in basic way, see 1st screenshot) - I expect AndroidX would have been on a Flamingo canary when I added the annotation
- Giraffe (works)
- Hedgehog (works better, see 2nd screenshot which now highlights the table name as a standard identifier)
- Iguana (broken in current way, see 3rd screenshot)
I tested by creating a trivial empty project, and adding the following to the example unit test:
fun sql(@Language("sql") param: String) {}
@Test
fun foo() {
sql("select * from whatever")
}
Paste containing exact versions I tested on (these are just the initial stable versions of each release):
