Provide the proper way to to not hard code UI component values. For example, I have a card in my app and so now I'm unsure should I set the height to 240.dp or should I take the screen dimensions height and do a fraction of that or should I take .fillMaxHeight() but take a fraction of that.

On this page here - https://developer.android.com/develop/ui/compose/components/card - it is showing how you can set the width and height for a filled card as an example and yet, now I'm confused because it seems this is not what you should do based on the link below in the "Flexible Layouts" section.

I apologize if this doesn't fit as a bug but it is something I hope to get some clarification on so I can make sure I'm doing things right. I appreciate the Android Developer's Guide that you all provide but that does seem to conflict.
