Description
**Santali** is a constitutionally recognized language in India and is spoken by over 7 million people, primarily in Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and Assam. Its inclusion in Google's OCR services would:
1. **Preserve and promote indigenous languages** in technology.
2. Support users in digitizing and translating documents written in Santali.
3. Enable broader access to technology for the Santali-speaking community.
## **Justification**:
* **Official Script**: Ol Chiki is the official script of Santali and is used in literature, education, and government communications.
* **Significance**: It is one of the 22 scheduled languages of India, recognized under the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
* **Community Impact**: Including Santali in Google OCR will empower a historically underrepresented linguistic community and facilitate better engagement with modern technologies.
## **Resources**:
If needed, I can assist by providing resources such as:
* Text samples in Santali (Ol Chiki).
* Fonts and Unicode specifications for Ol Chiki script.
* Documentation or community support for testing.
Thank you for considering this request. Please let me know if further details are required.
Regards,
