Thanks!!

you can already open a tab at a specific index using "alt + <num-key>" so "alt + z" could act as an "undo" like "ctrl + z"

Those shortcuts are using Ctrl+Num (1 through 9), not Alt+Num (on Windows).
And I actually think Ctrl+0 (or Ctrl+Shift+0 in reverse) which is still available would be a better candidate here.

Ctrl/Alt (platform dependent) + 0
It should perform the reverse if combined with Shift
Sounds good to me

How about instead of inventing a new shortcut, adding a setting to enable Ctrl+Tab to cycle through tabs in recently used order (same as Firefox does it, see the attached screenshot)? I think inventing a new shortcut has a risk of conflicting with existing shortcuts on various systems.

I wouldn't mind having Ctrl+Tab's default behavior set (on demand) to recently used, but really we need shortcuts for both options!
Sometimes (usually) you want to navigate by order of last visit, however many times one needs to navigate tab after tab in order of their appearance in the tab drawer.
Description
Steps to reproduce the problem
Problem Description
Currently to view last used tab (not last closed tab), one needs to press 4 buttons: Ctrl+Shift+A, then Enter. Viewing last viewed tab is one of the most used actions of any web user and the UX for this action should be improved by introducing a more adequate shortcut to achieve that.

Summary
Introduce a better shortcut for navigating to last used tab
