After upgrading to Ladybug Feature Drop | 2024.2.2 RC 2, the issue occured again.
FYI, the dump.txt file is attached to this comment.
Steps to reproduce the issue:
1. open Resource Manager panel.
2. click plus button.
3. click Import Drawables button.

It looks like the freeze might be happening in the file picking path. Could you please try to enable ide.ui.new.file.chooser=true in Help | Edit Custom Properties and restart the IDE? Does it reproduce with the new file chooser?

The issue still arise after following steps:
- enable
ide.ui.new.file.chooser=truein Help | Edit Custom Properties. - restart IDE and open a project.
- open Resource Manager panel.
- click plus button.
- click Import Drawables button.

Good news. The issue has not been encountered in Android Studio Meerkat | 2024.3.1 RC 1, Build #AI-243.22562.218.2431.12996373.
It is likely that the issue has been resolved due to modifications implemented between Ladybug Feature Drop | 2024.2.2 RC 2 and Meerkat | 2024.3.1 RC 1.
