Current focus of Crostini/Linux VM is to support developer's environment, so lowering the priority.

Lowering the priority because a feature is not for "development" limits the usefulness of Crostini. There are several Midi-compatible Linux applications that cannot be used on Chromebook/Crostini because of this limitation. If Crostini aims to be a fully true Linux implementation on the Chromebook hardware, we need to get past the "developer" bias. I would like to use Reaper DAW or LMMS DAW with my Midi devices, using my beloved Chromebook, but I cannot because of this lack of functionality. How can this be moved up in priority?

Apologies for my uninformed question, but what does "Labels: sw-b-migration-candidate" in the previous comment mean? In my research, it seems to mean that it has been referred to the Google Issue Tracker, but is that a sign this might be considered for development?

Please sort this out, it would be such an awesome and necessary feature

It would be nice if a USB MIDI device could be offered the ability to "pass through" the same way that some serial USB devices are granted the option.

As someone who works in the light and music industry, it would be great to be able to use MIDI controllers with the Linux apps that Crostini supports. Google has gone 95% of the way of opening up the Chromebook for more advance tasks - now please go the last mile and allow us to use USB peripherals such as MIDI devices so we can be more creative with our Chromebooks. 🙏

is this where we voice support for this feature? I love Crostini! I'm a software dev, but I also produce space farts, would love to have some usb midi love in Crostini ♥.

Given the ongoing comments where people ask for MIDI support in Cronstini, wouldn't it be adequate to raise the priority for this feature?

Yes please!!! I'm a dj and would like to use my hardware deck (a usb midi device) with my chromebook .

Seriously yes please add this feature. It is 2024 and 3 years since the initial request. Can AI coding help to speed up this development?
Description
This is the correct behaviour in case characters of UCS-2 Encoding are used, but not for standard characters included into GSM 03.38
Ñ character is included into GSM 03.38 GSM 7-bit default alphabet:
In fact with a real phone only one SMS with 97 characters is received.
Code is pretty easy, see attached screenshots, with $ everything is ok, while with Ñ smsMessages array is made of 2 items
For privacy and security reasons I cannot attach more than this and full log files, but I think it may be enough because it's quite simple to reproduce.
Tested with emulator API 31 and API 35, both have the issue.
