Default SMS app stops seeing itself as the default SMS app in Android 15, was working fine in Android 14 and before

Steps to reproduce the problem

In Android Studio, create 2 Virtual Devices :

1. One with Android 14 (I used Release Name: UpsideDownCake, API: 34, ABI: x86_64, xABI: arm64-v8a, Target: Android 14.0 (Google Play)
2. One with Android 15 (I used Release Name: VanillaIceCream, API: 35, ABI: x86_64, xABI: arm64-v8a, Target: Android 15.0 (Google Play)

Launch the 2 virtual devices and in each Vitual Device, do these steps :

• Download and install Silence v0.15.16 (https://f-droid.org/repo/org.smssecure.smssecure_145.apk).
• Open the app.
• Accept the popup explaining that this app is built for an older version of Android.
• Allow notifications.
• Click Continue and allow access to contacts, phone calls and SMS.
• On Android 15 only (may be related to the bug ?) click OK on a system popup explaining the app requests a sensitive permission. (https://support.google.com/android/answer/12623953)
• On Android 15 only go to the Silence App info and allow restricted settings in the 3-dot menu, then allow the SMS permission.
• Now set Silence as the default SMS app (either via Silence menu or via Settings > Apps > Default apps > SMS app : Silence)

Expected in Android 15

Like in Android 14 (and older !), in Silence > 3-dot menu > Settings, in "SMS and MMS", it is written "Incoming on". In the "SMS and MMS" menu, you can read "Incoming SMS enabled / Tap to change your default SMS app"

Silence knows it is the default SMS app.

Actual in Android 15

Contrary to Android 14 (and older !), in Silence > 3-dot menu > Settings, in "SMS and MMS", it is written "Incoming off". In the "SMS and MMS" menu, if you tap on "Incoming SMS disabled / Tap to make Silence your default SMS app", nothing happen.

Silence doesn't know it is the default SMS app.

Other info

The problem is also reproducible on a real device and discovered after migrating my device from Android 14 to Android 15.

This bug change the Silence SMS app behaviour : it doesn't send notifications because the app think it is not the default SMS app.
