Earlier today I was sent this email from you, but despite you mentioning that the project has been reinstated all my users are getting errors as seen in the screenshot

The problem was that once Google re-enabled the API project I had to go to play console and publish the Google Play Games part under "Play Games services configuration". Once that was done players were able to access it again
