What would you like to see us add to this API?
Dear Google Maps API Team,
I’d like to request that the Drive-Through attribute be made available in the Google Places API under the Place Details (Preferred) SKU. The driveThrough bit is already present in Google Maps, but it is currently unavailable to developers via the Places API.
Why It Matters: Existing Precedents: Similar attributes like Curbside Pickup, Dine-In, and Delivery were added to the API as part of pandemic response efforts. The Drive-Through attribute, however, remains unavailable, despite being a simple deterministic field (not requiring inference). High Business & User Value: Many industries, including quick-service restaurants (QSRs), coffee shops, pharmacies, and banks, depend heavily on drive-through service. Exposing this attribute would improve mapping applications, search filters, and navigation experiences. Minimal Development Effort: Since the driveThrough field is already structured and featured in Google Maps, the primary effort would be exposing it via the API, specifically within the Place Details (Preferred) SKU, where similar attributes are already provided.
