Hi, I think this happens because we cannot load the snapshot saved with the previous version. This snapshot may potentially contain pending disk writes, so the whole filesystem must be discarded. You can try disabling snapshotting in the AVD settings, Additional Settings, Default Boot, switch to "Cold".
Description
Everytime there is an "emulator update" everything gets wiped out. Why is it called an "update" if you need to reconfigure everything because it has wiped everything out ? This is very time consuming when you use proxy certificates, apps for SSO, test data, etc. Every such "update" ends up costing work hours that nobody pays me for.
If it can't be done, just stop calling it an "update" and call it what it is "all your emulators and data will be deleted and replaced with new empty emulators".
2. Attach log files from Android Studio
attached
3. If you know what they are, write the steps to reproduce:
3A. install and configure an amulator
3B. wait for an update
3C. update and lose all your data and settings
