I'm pretty certain that in the definition of fun updateCategory the parameter type should be PlaylistCategory to match the rest of the sample.

I.e.,

public interface PlaylistDao {
  @Update(entity = Playlist::class)
  fun updateCategory(varargs category: PlaylistCategory)  // <-- changed
}
