What would you like to see us add to this API?
Within the new place library, currently version : beta, It would like to be very interesting and it’s a necessary, having the « new google.maps.places.PlaceAutocompleteElement() » input sub-element exposed for css or accessible via function like set style().
Actually, it’s impossible applying css on it.
Also, it’s impossible to add an placeholder Which is a problem. Maybe with JavaScript add attribute it is possible but It’s currently a hole that need be filling. If it’s an html element. It need to behave like one.
What part of the API (please specify, a library, or the code module)?
Places librairy
Please describe how the feature should work:
Having a class like gma-whatsoever for overriding css.
For the placeholder, I would recommend having a function to the class. SetAttribute() Which act like élément.SetAttribute().
Please give a use case or explain where and why you need this feature:
On any web apps Using new google.maps.places.PlaceAutocompleteElement()
