In order to diagnose this I think we will need more information.
Can you clarify if this happens for a new Native C++ project without any changes to it? Would it be possible for you to share an Android Studio project where you see this issue?

Monospace fonts do not respect the space for common "box drawing" characters.
- What you think the correct behavior should be.
Width of characters like
─ ┬ ┐├ ┼ ┤ └ ┴ ┘
must support the same width than any othe character for standard monospace fonts in Android.
Char width looks ok in iOS and also on Android using Adobe fonts, but fails with the default Android preinstalled ones.

Don't forget to mention which version of Android you're using, and/or which
device the problem appears on (model and Android version).
