I had the same problem!
I could solve it by putting the .aidl file in an aidl directory.
Look at the attached screenshot to see the project structure.

Please describe your requested enhancement. Good feature requests will solve common problems or enable new use cases.
What you would like to accomplish:
Please update the available version of fluentbit for GKE. They are currently on version 3.2.7 and the latest version for GKE is 1.8.12.
How this might work:
Ensure that the new versions of fluentbit are compatible with GKE and make them available through the repository.
If applicable, reasons why alternative solutions are not sufficient:
The 1.x versions have issues fixed on 2.x and 3.x versions, updating to the new version would take care of these issues and provide additional features.
Attempting to use a newer version with a custom implementation of fluentbit, results in broken functionality.
Other information (workarounds you have tried, documentation consulted, etc):
