Digging around a bit, it appears WebKit itself doesn't handle authentication at all.
Instead, it would appear on Android that the package org.apache.http.auth does this.

Description
This has now been an issue for days, there is one thing not having reserved instances, another to never being able to use the service. Basically, the service is unusable, and I will have to go elsewhere very soon if this is not resolved.
