1) Since Looker Studio has no central UI feature for administering access management across all dashboards in the organization, an API is required to facilitate user management at the organization level, similar to what is available for other Google services like Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager.

2) A user management API for Looker Studio would be essential to integrate with an Identity & Access Management (IAM) solution such as SailPoint, that would allow for process automation, mitigating the risk of human errors caused by manual access provisioning/deprovisioning.

3) A user management API would allow users to be added and removed to dashboards based on their onboarding/offboarding lifecycle in the organization enhancing security & data privacy. Manual user recertification would be avoided saving time & effort. Provisioning/deprovisioning of incorrect accesses or roles would be completely avoided.
