STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

Open any file with a Composable Preview
AS crashes

Note: hiding the Composable Preview view prevents AS from crashing.

When you say crashes: Does Studio close (VM crash?)
If so is there a ~/java_error_in_studio_NNNN.log left over ?
Could you attach it ?

I couldn't find the crash symptoms in the logs shared. In addition to what was asked in comment #3, can you please share the diagnostics data, as described in https://developer.android.com/studio/report-bugs#report-bug, as it could help us to investigate it further?

Yes, Studio closes. I couldn't find a java_error_in_studio log file though.

If the VM crashes there should be a file left in your users folder ~

Android Studio closes as soon as I try to show the Preview in Grid mode, but there's no java_error_in_studio_***.log in my home folder.
