I am having a hard time setting gradel and the JVM to compadable versions. I try and look up instructions and videos about how to set them so I can have a working Android Emulator. I have been trying for a long time and have had no success.

The videos are out of date very quickly. I do not understand the reason why but the menu options that are in the videos are not available when I try to use them. In the case of the promisingly named APG upgrade Assistant the button is there but an can not be selected.

Pertaining to the JVM I can no longer figure out how to configure it at all. In the past it was pretty easy & I could do it without issue. Now however; I just do not know where to start.

I would appreciate any help at all. I am not bad at using computers but just am out of my league here. I try and try. I spend hours hunting down answers and just do not know how to proceed.

If possible I would like Android Studio to have a working Emulator or one that can easily be fixed. That said I suggest it may be easiest for everyone if the Emulator just worked out the box
